At 4:25 PM on Friday, November 3, 2023, the first plane from Wrocław to Seoul took off. 250 passengers boarded Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner were also checked in before the flight by employees of LG Energy Solution Wrocław – event partner.
- The first historic flight connecting Wrocław with the capital of South Korea took place in the afternoon on Friday, November 3, 250 people traveled on board. This is the first direct connection between Wrocław and another continent.
- The event's partner was LG Energy Solution Wrocław, which funded sweet gifts for passengers.
Passengers boarding their first historic direct flight on the Wrocław-Seoul route at the boarding gates received a gift from the event partner – LG Energy Solution Wrocław. As part of the „Charge up your day” campaign, the company gave away sweet gifts that were supposed to recharge travelers during an 11-hour flight to the capital of South Korea.
- A direct connection will reduce the length of the flight itself as well as the distance between countries. It's about closing the psychological distance. If this distance decreases, agreement will become much easier. The figurative importance of a better connection between our countries is important. – admits Jangha Lee, president of LG Energy Solution Wrocław.
Only in the Lower Silesian region more than half of the Korean community in Poland lives, i.e. 2,5 thousand people. The majority of this group works in one of many Korean companies in Lower Silesia, including the LG Group.
- This is a historic event for us. It is the first connection in which we connect Wrocław with another continent, with Asia, as part of a direct, regular flight. There was no such thing in our history. – sums up Cezary Pacamaj, President of Wrocław Airport in an interview with Legnica.fm.
Direct flights from Wrocław to the capital of South Korea will be operated every Friday and will be operated by PLL LOT.
