LG Energy Solution has signed an agreement with German technology company Siemens AG. Thanks to the strategic cooperation, LGES will be able to implement smart battery manufacturing processes using advanced technologies in its factories.

The companies' common goal is to digitise the manufacturing process and minimise the carbon footprint in supply chain management.

The smart battery manufacturing process will be implemented at the Ultium Cells LLC plant in Tennessee, US, which is a joint venture between LG Energy Solution and General Motors.

In addition, the companies will jointly develop training programmes at the Institute of Battery Technology (IBT) for academic students who will work for LG Energy Solution.
