Yet the world of innovation continues to lose this potential and in many places fails to support the development of women’s careers — due to entrenched patterns and barriers that block the diversity of thinking necessary to solve the greatest challenges of our time.

Can we afford to waste talent?
The upcoming International Women in Engineering Day is a great opportunity to talk about how to create strong, interdisciplinary and supportive environments conducive to the development of science and technology. In a world where innovation occurs at the intersection of different perspectives, competencies and experiences, it becomes crucial to build an ecosystem that enables the development of all talented individuals – regardless of their path, background, specialization or gender.
What are we going to talk about?
Female scientists and engineers continue to clash with the dominant career pattern in technology roles. They perform disproportionately more so-called invisible organizational work — tasks that do not translate into promotion or recognition. There is still a lack of clear role models and real paths of support.
Our goal is to start a conversation about how together –as universities, businesses, public institutions and community organizations– we can create a more open, inclusive and innovative ecosystem that attracts, develops and retains talent in science and technology and supports the development of sustainable teams.

This meeting is open to anyone who has the future of innovation and science at heart. We invite you in particular:
