5 CSR projects from LG Energy Solution highlighted in the 22nd edition of the Responsible Business Forum Report

The Responsible Business Forum report is the largest review of ESG initiatives in Poland. In this year’s 22nd edition, 266 companies presented 1046 CSR actions implemented. Among them were 5 projects by LG Energy Solution Wrocław.

On April 16th, the “ESG Idea Fair” conference took place at the ADN Conference Center in Warsaw, with the annual goal of exchanging knowledge, reflections, and good practices around the most important issues in sustainable development.

During the event, the premiere of the report “Responsible Business in Poland 2023. Good Practices” took place. For this year’s edition, a maximum of 5 practices implemented in 2023 could be submitted. All previous editions of the Responsible Business Forum have collected a total of 9610 examples of good practices.

Among the 266 companies engaged this year, LG Energy Solution Wrocław also had the opportunity to share its 5 implemented CSR projects.

In the 22nd edition of the report, companies focused mainly on activities in the field of social engagement (418 good practices), work (249 good practices), and environment (210 good practices). LG Energy Solution submitted four practices in the field of work and one in the category of social engagement and local community development. Most were implemented at the beginning of the factory’s operation.

The CRS initiatives presented by LG Energy Solution focus on supporting employees and the young local community in line with the global ESG vision “We charge toward a better future.” The company takes care of its large team in various ways – from the beginning of the factory’s operation, it offers safe and comfortable access to the company’s premises. Thousands of employees use private transportation offered by the company, as well as municipal and public transport (partnership agreement with MPK Wrocław), thus contributing to the reduction of exhaust emissions and carbon footprint.

The company pays special attention to health-related practices. Firstly, movement is health – organizing the cyclical sports program “Healthy Summer” for company employees encourages physical activity, but also provides an opportunity to meet people from other departments. In the summer edition of the program alone, 3600 company employees, in their chosen activity such as walking, running, cycling, or scootering, covered a record-breaking 1,653,049 km for all editions of the program.

Secondly, health is awareness – informational campaigns are regularly carried out, and examinations can be performed on the company’s premises during work hours. In October and November of last year alone, on the occasion of Pink October and Movember (months dedicated to raising awareness about breast or testicular cancer), over 2000 employees underwent tumor marker tests. Additionally, the on-site medical center was equipped with a new ambulance. Rescuers are on duty around the clock.

As pioneers of the electromobility industry, employees exchange good energy with each other. The “Thank you Ensol” program, which has been run almost from the beginning of the organization’s operation, is based on the exchange of symbolic batteries among employees as a thank you for help or a jointly implemented project. In this way, although at the intersection of many cultures and languages, a cohesive team is created, able to cooperate with each other.

The latest and youngest project is the opening of the Electromobility Laboratory at the Wrocław University of Technology, for which LG Energy Solution Wrocław donated over 600,000 PLN for its construction and equipment. In 2023, the “Charge The Future” internship program for students of Polish universities also started. It is a three-month paid internship under the supervision of an experienced company employee.
