We Organized Summer Internships for Korean Language Translators

The three-week training cycle, in partnership with higher education institutions such as the University of Warsaw, the University of Wrocław, Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, and Jagiellonian University, aimed to enhance students’ language skills, prepare them for the initial challenges of working as Polish-Korean translators, and familiarize them with the daily life of South Korean corporations like LG Energy Solution Wrocław. Five students participated in the internship.

Goals and Benefits of the Internship Program for Future Translators

Building strong, valuable partnerships with the best higher education institutions in Poland is one of the main goals of LG Energy Solution Wrocław. We are delighted to support the academic community studying Korean language and culture by offering them essential practical experience.

"During the internship, students have the rare opportunity to work in various production areas and support teams, which helps them better understand the company's language support needs. This awareness allows for more comprehensive preparation for entering the job market, especially in the context of global companies like LG Energy Solution Wrocław. Our employees shared their knowledge and experience gained during daily duties and various translation projects in the company. The internship mainly included practical exercises to prepare students for real challenges they may encounter working as translators in the technology industry. Students had the chance to attempt translation during meetings, perform short written translations, and co-create healthy practices for cross-cultural cooperation and communication,"

Collaboration with Higher Education Institutions

Through collaboration with higher education institutions, as one of the largest employers in Poland, we participate in adapting educational programs to market needs, providing students with practical skills and professional experience. As a partner, the company supports the development of science, co-financing innovative initiatives like the Electromobility Laboratory at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology and sponsoring academic initiatives like the BioHackathon at the Warsaw University of Technology. Collaboration with the academic community also allows for faster talent recruitment.

“Our involvement in educational initiatives such as translation internships is an expression of our commitment to building long-term relationships with universities that educate Korean studies students and future translators. We are convinced that such activities enrich the educational offer of universities and provide valuable experience for students considering a career at LG Energy Solution Wrocław, where they will have many opportunities to use their language skills daily,” says Klaudia Piątek, the company’s spokesperson. “By offering students internships and placements at LG Energy Solution Wrocław, we enable them to apply the knowledge gained during their studies daily and better prepare for their future careers. In a broader context, we believe that supporting the education and professional development of young people positively impacts society as a whole,” she concludes.

We are pleased to share our experience and contribute to the development of language and professional competencies of future translators. Educational initiatives like this are crucial for building bridges between Poland and Korea and supporting future leaders in the fields of translation and technology.

We sincerely thank all participants and our university partners for their cooperation and are already preparing for the next editions of our internships.
