Wroclaw, April 3, 2025 – In the Senate Hall of the Wrocław University of Technology, the president of LG Energy Solution Wrocław, Jangha Lee, received a medal from the university authorities of the Wrocław University of Technology “Distinguished Service to the Faculty of Electrical Engineering.” This is an expression of gratitude for his commitment to developing cooperation between the company and the university. During the ceremony, the best graduation theses were also awarded.
This is an important event for us, because LG is one of the largest technology companies in the world. Many young people choose our university thanks to the presence of such a large company in the region, because after graduation they can count on a job in a company developing the latest technologies. This relationship brings many benefits to both of our institutions, so I hope to develop our existing cooperation. In presenting the medal, we also wanted to thank all the employees from the various departments of the company with whom we cooperate on a daily basis.
Prof. Arkadiusz Wójs, rector of Wroclaw University of Technology
The cooperation between LG Energy Solution Wrocław and the Wrocław University of Technology began several years ago, culminating in the opening of the Electromobility Laboratory in November 2023, for which the company donated more than PLN 600,000.
Korea is a very important country for Poland and the world. a country that has been consistently investing in resources, science and technology for decades. This makes companies like LG Energy Energy Solution a powerhouse today that we are pleased and honored to work with.
Prof. Waldemar Rebizant, dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering
We awarded the best diploma works
The meeting also included the awarding of prizes to the graduates of the three best theses on electromobility for the 2024/2025 academic year. The prizes were awarded as part of the first competition co-organized by LG Energy Solution Wrocław and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the Wrocław University of Technology.
I am very happy to be here and present these awards to the most outstanding graduates. This is a great honor for me, especially since there are about 500 students of the Wroclaw University of Technology working at LG Energy Solution Wroclaw, supporting our technological thought and taking care of its development. I appreciate this very much and thank you for your contribution to strengthening our brand.
Jangha Lee, president of LG Energy Solution Wroclaw
The thesis exam committees submitted 10 engineering theses to the Competition. Five theses were defended in the Electromobility major, two each from the majors: Industrial Automation and Electromechatronics, and one from the direction of Electrical Engineering. The level of the submitted theses was very high. In the end, the competition jury, which included representatives of the company and the faculty, awarded three main prizes to:
- Piotr Dabrowski for the thesis “Development of control software for a station with an intelligent bidirectional DC power supply,” supervisor Dr. Maciej Skowron,
- Michal Frydrychowicz for his thesis “Analysis of DFOC control of a seven-phase induction motor”, supervisor Dr. Jacek Listwan,
- Kacper Kras for the thesis “Simulation model of 3kV DC railroad catenary network taking into account changes in the value of voltage occurring in the network”, supervisor Dr. Marta Bątkiewicz-Pantuła.
I am extremely pleased that it was my thesis that was awarded. The topic concerned the development of software that controls a two-way smart power supply. This is the type of device that the Electromobility Laboratory was equipped with thanks to LG Energy Solution Wroclaw. Thanks to this project, I was able to improve the skills I acquired during my studies. I will want to develop this topic in my next work, already a master's degree, but not so much for the purpose of obtaining another diploma, but more for teaching purposes
Piotr Dabrowski, the first graduate of the Electromobility course
