What’s up with our interns?

Two months ago we announced the launch of recruitment for the 4th edition of our #ChargeTheFuture internship program, inviting students to gain their first professional experience at one of the most technologically advanced factories in Europe. Today the program is in full swing – 32 people began their paid internships in mid-July and will be with us until the end of September.

Who joined our team?

The interns were placed in five different areas:

  • Electrode – 7 people
  • Cell – 7 people
  • Module – 6 people
  • QA + CMQ – 6 people
  • Staff – 6 people

LG Energy Solution Wrocław is open to candidates from all universities, but it’s worth noting that a large proportion of this year’s interns are students from our partner universities: Wrocław University of Science and Technology, the Wrocław University of Economics and Business, and WSB Merito University. In fact, there were significantly more candidates interested in the program than available internship positions in the individual areas.

Each internship is based on an individual internship plan, prepared jointly with the manager of the given area.

"Our internships are based on internship plans created together with the respective managers. There are cases where such plans are modified – when a student is particularly keen on gaining specific knowledge or skills."

What awaits interns beyond their daily work in their areas?

“The trainings cover various topics – both soft skills and typically engineering ones, like the 8D method training, which is used in many technology companies. We proposed the topics for the additional trainings with our interns’ future professional use of these skills in mind.”

Energy of Tomorrow Competition

As is now a tradition, we organize the Energy of Tomorrow (Energia Jutra) competition as part of the internship. Participants can choose one of two topics:

  • How do I see the future of e-mobility?
  • My idea for more efficient energy use.

Competition entries can be prepared in any format – video, graphic design, presentation, or material developed using AI. The competition runs until August 31, after which a jury will select the winners, who will present their projects at the official internship closing ceremony in September.

.

"We don't limit our interns' creativity – we're counting on their inventiveness in carrying out their projects and their engaged presentation of their concepts. We've prepared attractive prizes for the authors of the best entries."

Klaudia's story, one of our interns

Among the participants of the 4th edition is Klaudia, who is doing her internship in the HR area.

"I was looking for a place where I could gain practical experience and build on what I'd learned at university. I'm learning a lot here, including about workplace communication, and I'm getting to know an international environment. I got to see an open space in real life, which I'd only known from movies. Everyone is really kind and supportive, I can ask about every detail. I was worried about the beginning, but I got full support."

We wish Klaudia the best of luck in our open space and much success in the future!

First contact with work – and more

"For many of our interns, this is their first encounter not only with professional duties, but also with a work environment – so they get to learn what it's like to work in an office and on production lines. Thanks to taking part in a paid internship, most students benefit doubly, since it also counts toward their university work placement requirement, which is no small motivation. Beyond standard training in their professional area, students can take part in additional activities – soft- and hard-skills trainings or our Energy of Tomorrow competition. We're rooting for these young people and we're glad to watch their development within our organization."

The #ChargeTheFuture program is also an investment in the future of our team for us – it’s not uncommon for an internship at LG Energy Solution Wrocław to become the start of a long-term career.

"We sometimes see job applications where our internship appears under 'experience,' which always catches our attention – and always makes us happy. So we do have examples in the company of people who, after finishing their studies, came back to us on a full employment contract."

We’re wish luck for all the interns of the 4th edition of #ChargeTheFuture and we can’t wait for the September wrap-up.
