LG Energy Solution Wrocław cooperates with Opole University of Technology
LG Energy Solution Wrocław and Opole Technical University concluded a cooperation agreement. The partnership will enable both joint research and development activities, as well as internships and apprenticeships for students. LG’s cooperation with the leading Polish university is also a response to the growing demand for specialized personnel in the electromobility sector.
LG Energy Solution Wrocław is Europe’s largest and the world’s leading producer of batteries for electric cars. Although the company was established only 5 years ago, it currently employs about 10 thousand workers. During that time Poland has become a European leader in the production of lithium-ion batteries. Cooperation and exchange of experience with the industry, social and economic sector is one of the priorities for the management of Opole University of Technology.
LG needs no introduction, it’s a global company. We can also see how electromobility is developing. The cooperation with LG Energy Solution Wrocław will concern areas related to joint projects, activities, research. Our students will be able to take advantage of internships at LG. I hope, that the agreement signed today will translate not only into the development of LG and Opole University of Technology, but also Opole and the whole region – says Prof. Marcin Lorenc, rector of Opole University of Technology.
The electromobility industry has developed dynamically in recent years. Reports indicate that the demand for skilled workers in this sector will grow rapidly. For this reason an important information for students is the cooperation of the university with LG in the field of internships, workshops, apprenticeships and later employment of Opole University of Technology graduates.
The electromobility revolution is taking place before our eyes. The agreement between the Opole University of Technology and LG Energy Solution Wrocław is the first step towards it for the city. Opole University of Technology gains one of the most important partners, who will help it to develop new fields of study, internships, foreign trips and later entry of graduates into the labour market – comments Arkadiusz Wiśniewski, President of Opole.
Thanks to the signing of the agreement both parties will undertake cooperation in the scope of conducting research and development works, projects of innovative and scientific character, as well as later implementation of their effects in everyday work of the industry.
With our potential we have great possibilities for cooperation, e.g. modern technology used in our factories will surely be attractive for the students themselves. We would also like to participate in their education and be an active partner for Opole Technical University – comments Piotr Blachura, HR Director LG Energy Solution Wrocław.
The cooperation agreement was concluded for an indefinite period of time. The parties are planning to jointly apply for external funds for research and promote the activities of the Opole University of Technology.
