2. classification of the plant
LG Energy Solution Wrocław Sp. z o.o., due to the amount of stored hazardous substance used in the production process, was classified as a plant with increased risk of a serious industrial accident - the plant is subject to regulations on prevention of industrial accidents.
In accordance with art. 250 and 251 of the Act of 27 April 2001. Environmental Protection Act (Journal of Laws of 2019, item 1396 as amended), the establishment reported and submitted the accident prevention programme to the following competent authorities: State Fire Service and Voivodeship Environmental Protection Inspector
3. description of the plant
LG Energy Solution Wrocław Sp. z o.o., produces lithium-ion batteries for electric cars PHEV (plug - in hybrid electric vehicle) and EV (electric vehicle). The product of the battery factory are lithium-ion batteries (Li-Ion), which power electric cars. A lithium ion battery (Li-Ion) is a type of electric battery in which one of the electrodes is made of porous carbon and the other of metal oxides, and the role of the electrolyte is played by complex chemical lithium salts dissolved in a mixture of organic solvents. Batteries of this type produce 3.6V per cell. This technology allows to accumulate twice as much energy as in NiMH batteries of the same size weight. The purpose of the plant facilities is as follows:
LG Energy Solution Wrocław Sp. z o.o. plant is being built in 3 stages:
a) Stage I: comprising 1 hall where the technological installation for the production of lithium-ion battery cells is located;;
b) II stage: covering 2 halls where technological installation for production of electrodes and cells for lithium-ion batteries is constructed;
c) III stage: covering 4 halls where production of lithium-ion batteries will take place;
d) Pack I hall - where the last stage of production is carried out - assembly of cells into finished batteries and accompanying processes;
e) Pack II hall - where the final stage of production is carried out - assembly of cells into finished batteries.

1) State Fire Service
2) The Voivodeship Inspectorate for Environmental Protection in Wrocław
The industrial accident warnings will be given by the units after receiving a notice from the establishment operator about the occurrence of the accident.
